Nevada SCBWI can connect you with a critique group. These groups are a great way to improve your craft and meet other members. They are informal and there may or may not be a group in your area or that meets at the time most convenient to you. Also, some groups welcome new members while others are limited. Here is a list of ongoing groups that are open to new members. Please be sure to contact the critique group's leader to confirm the time and date of the next meeting. If you don't find an existing group that meets your needs, please contact one of our Nevada Critique Group Coordinators. For the northern Nevada area, contact Heather Petty. For the Southern Nevada area, contact Ann Kimbrough. The coordinators can connect you with others in your area or will add your name to a list of members who want to form new critique groups.

 

Sierra Nevada Southern Nevada
Reno - the new Reno Critique Group meets every Sunday of the month at Barnes & Noble (5555 S. Virginia St. Reno, NV) at 11:30 am. For more information, contact Julie Dillard or Heather Petty.
Las Vegas Wordworms - is open to new members. Please contact Ann Kimbrough. Las Vegas Wordworms meets on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month at the Coffee Bean's private room, just across from UNLV at 4550 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite A, in the Rebel Shopping Center.
Carson City/Minden/Gardnerville - Generally meets on the third Saturday of the month, 12:00 noon at Starbucks (1410 William Street). All welcome. Contact Monica Marcinko.
Einstein Critique Group - is open to new members and guests. It meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at 1pm at the UNLV Student Union, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway Las Vegas, NV. For more information contact Dori Gilbert.
North Lake Tahoe and Truckee area - Meetings take place the first and third Wednesday of each month from 1 pm to 3 pm at Truckee Book and Bean Used Bookstore. The bookstore is located downstairs from the Spirit Gallery at the corner of Brockway Road and West River Street in downtown Truckee, CA . Bring 3 copies of first 6 pages of manuscript for novels, and 3 copies entire manuscripts for picture books. For more information contact Kris Norris or Debbie Larson.
